REVIEW THIS HANDY TRILLIONAIRES STARTER KIT. (If the kit doesn’t answer all your questions, email T$T HQ.)
MESSAGING YOU CAN USE:
In “Trillionaire” character:
Our Fingers are in your wallets! Our Fingers are in your healthcare! Our Fingers are in America's cookie jar!
If it takes shredding your Social Security and hollowing out your Medicare to get us billionaires our tax cuts—well, that’s a sacrifice we’re willing for everyone else to make.
The arc of history is long but it bends towards oligarchy… because we paid it to.
We billionaires are there for Trump, because boy is he sure there for us.
Who needs a Department of Transportation when you have your own private jet?
To those who say big money should be kept out of politics, we say show me where in the Constitution it calls for a separation of cash and state!
We support Musk - because unelected billionaires have our interests at heart!
We bought this government fair and square!
They say “hands off”, we say “hand it over”!
Wealthcare, not healthcare!
Social security - make it neither.
Government of the Billionaires, for the Billionaires, and by the Billionaires.
Chants!
$ Trillionaires, United, Will Never Be Indicted!
$ No Taxes! No Fees! Let us hoard our luxuries!
$ Whose yachts? Our yachts!
$ Hey! Ho! Living wage’s got to go!
$ You say “Hands Off!”, We say “Fingers In!”
Some straight talking points for when you step out of character:
So the real reason we are here…
Extreme wealth concentration has eroded the “one person, one vote” principle underpinning American democracy.
In 2024, for example, Elon Musk personally financed the Trump campaign’s ground operations and gave individual Trump voters $1 million per day, a legally questionable scheme that some experts argued amounted to paying for votes.
Elon Musk’s new role heading the so-called Department of Government Efficiency perfectly exemplifies the billionaire takeover of our government.
Since Election Day, Musk has become $154 billion richer – a nearly 600-fold return on his $277 million investment to elect President Trump and his allies. He has used his power in the Trump Administration to gain access to the sensitive financial data of millions of Americans and fire the federal regulators charged with protecting us from his companies’ corporate malfeasance.
Our current tax code is broken. Taxing greedy billionaires is the single best way to start breaking up the dangerous concentrations of wealth threatening our economic growth, democracy, and climate.
ACTION DOs & DON’Ts
DO…
$ Focus on economic issues and corporate take-over of democracy
$ Memorize and repeat 3-5 facts –Repetition and simplicity are essential - a concise sound bite is harder for someone to distort.
$ Repeat the name – Trillionaires for Trump should ‘hardwire’ the word ‘trillionaire’ to ‘Trump’. It should be put up front and center in all materials and repeated in all communications.
$ Be witty – energizes activists, engage people, and attract media.
$ Use irony as Trojan Horse, then step out of character – Use irony to win attention – and then break character to explain the message in plain terms.
$ Hold a tone of admiration for Trump – the first president to totally understand the needs of ordinary billionaires and our humble aspirations to be trillionaires.
$ Attend to your “visual message” – Always be mindful of how you’re presenting yourself to the cameras. Everyone should be in Trillionaire attire, or dressed as one of our staff (butler, chauffeur, secretary, horse trainer, etc.).
DON’T
$ DON’T fall into the trap of simply playing an obnoxious rich person – Our goal is to highlight how Trump and his loyalists take very good care of corporate interests and the super wealthy at the expense of ordinary Americans. Take the time to prepare yourself to talk about why, as one of the super wealthy, you support Trump.
$ DON’T be condescending towards ordinary Americans. Avoid language like ‘suckers’ and ‘little people’. Allow people to laugh with you as you poke your finger in the eye of the President, playing his biggest fan.
$ DON’T get trapped talking about cultural issues or issues that divide the left - they do not affect our bank accounts.
$ DON’T describe opponents as liberals – It’s middle class interests we’re fighting. We’re there to hold forth against “the great unwashed middle class masses.”
$ DON’T be a mock racist. To handle race in a humorous way requires a high level of artistry. Don’t risk it.
$ DON’T put down other protestors/activists – When speaking out of character to a reporter about how we use a unique approach to protest, it’s important to acknowledge that we are different, but not better. In fact we often depend on the presence of more traditional protestors to serve as our foils.
$ DON’T make Billionaires seem all powerful – We don’t want to exacerbate voter apathy and resignation. Instead, we can empower our audience by expressing frustration at “setbacks” like environmental restrictions, voter registration drives, or other citizens’ initiatives.
Have fun! And report back!
